In 2001 my son decided he wanted to be born. It was an unplanned pregnancy and
a bit of a surprise but it was one of the greatest things to happen to me. Since the
birth of my son I have been fascinated with the process of birth, the human body
and the emotional path of parenthood. I find great reward in helping individuals feel
better in and about their body. I also find it important to support mothers
emotionally, mentally and spiritually. We must learn to fill our own cup first to better
support our family and loved ones.

I became a birth doula in 2001 when my son was still a baby. Shortly thereafter I
went to the
Ann Arbor Institute of Massage Therapy to become a massage
therapist in 2003. I integrate my training in Neuromuscular, Myofascial and
Swedish massage modalities to accommodate my clients' needs.  I have broadened
my services to those in the childbearing years by becoming an
ALACE trained
childbirth educator and
DONA birth doula trainer. I have taught childbirth education
in Ann Arbor, Michigan since 2005. In 2010 I became an Renee Trudeau &
Associates trained facilitator for Personal Renewal Groups for Mothers.

I believe that all women should have a place to feel supported and nurtured on their
path especially in birth and parenting. If I can not support a woman on her journey I
will do my best to find a person or organization that can.

I have two children. My son, Sam, was born at the University of Michigan hospital
with the Nurse Midwives and my daughter, Ella-Rose, was born at home with New
Moon Midwifery.

I look forward to meeting you!

  Take care,
          Kate
