FAQ:
You will receive a certificate of completion that will allow you access to hospitals to attend births.
You will be able to attend births after this two-day training.
After this training, you will be a DONA-trained doula, not a DONA-certified doula.
You will have four years from the date of attending this training to decide if you would like to go through the DONA certification process to be a DONA-certified doula. More information about the DONA certification process is HERE.
There is no examination after this workshop.
There is no mandatory pre-work for this training.
About the Training:
Over this two-day training with Kate Stroud CD(DONA),BDT(DONA), you will have the opportunity to learn about supporting mothers, babies, and their families in the childbearing year. Kate has 20+ years of experience as a birth doula, postpartum doula, childbirth educator, homebirth midwife assistant, and massage therapist specializing in women in the childbearing year. She is also co-founder of the Michigan Prison Doula Initiative. Her deep experience offers you an in-depth look into the work of supporting families and learning the skills to guide you on your path. With her charismatic teaching style, you will have an enjoyable and valuable learning experience. The goal of this program is to develop strong compassionate doulas, empowered birthing people, and well-supported families to build healthy communities.
You need not have any background in birth or medical experience to take this training, just a desire to learn and support birthing families.
